Job Description

As our Sr. Manager for Clinical Professional Development (CPD) is responsible for qualifying and aligning surgeons into our CPD engagement paradigm, which includes a needs assessment, planning, and following surgeons’ through their Personalized Engagement Plans. You’ll work directly with San Diego-based CPD teams and regional NuVasive commercial teams. Your role is remunerated based on exemplary performance and taking responsibility for all delegated territory CPD activities, projects and budgetary targets. You’ll lead a seasoned team and will be heavily involved in creating and refining educational principles and processes.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Identify, validate, prioritize and introduce targeted surgeons to the CPD program(s) together with Sales.

  • Partner with Sales and Marketing teams achieve their “Win, Grow, and Protect” strategies.

  • Coach, customize and contract with surgeons and support them through their Personal Engagement Plans.

  • Execute Territory CPD programs and track relevant Key Performance Indicators:

  • Education e.g., programs, processes, faculty, preceptorships, communities.

  • Research (similar to education).

  • Clinical Practice & Personal Development (similar to education).

  • Management of customer and non-customer KOLs.

  • Implement communications plans to actively and accurately promote CPD to the targeted customer base.

  • Perform direct line management duties to support and develop Territory CPD Specialist(s).

  • Implement CPD governance and IT systems to facilitate education and engagement programs.

  • Perform competitive intelligence activities.

  • Comply with CPD SOPs, legal regulations and quality standards - deploy standardized CPD tools and polices.

  • Create an energetic, performance-based team culture for the CPD team and engaged surgeons.

  • The applicant must be willing to work to a flexible schedule, with an anticipated time requirement of 60% for travel within the relevant Territory.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related experience in the healthcare industry, directly working with physicians

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Involved in medical education programs and/or medical research

  • Proven management acumen, strong project management, and budget development/oversight experience

  • Clear and persuasive communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated success working in a multi-functional group and successfully navigating through levels of internal partners

  • High proficiency in MS Office and CRM experience

  • Ability to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, and professional journals and aptitude to write comprehensive and persuasive reports, as well as engaging business correspondence.
