Job Description

NuVasive Finance is seeking a motivated, self-starting, dynamic individual to be an integral part of supporting our Strategy, Technology, and Corporate Development business. This finance resource will provide P&L management with insight into the financial performance of the business, while providing financial support to translate strategy into execution. The candidate will be responsible for the financial analysis, planning, and reporting activities related to revenue, gross margin, marketing, training and asset utilization of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership

• Key member of several business leadership teams

• Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Clinical Services, Surgeon Training, Supply Chain and other finance functions

• Provide finance leadership for a key commercial team, providing analytics and insight to drive revenue growth and margin expansion

Financial Analysis

• Coordinate with several cross-functional teams to provide the business with analytics needed to drive growth and take market share

• Drive business cases and ROI analysis on surgeon training, marketing programs, and other business initiatives

• Analyze monthly revenue performance for a global sales team; understand revenue trends in the market including customer and surgeon segmentation, impacts of new product releases, revenue impact by geographic territory

• Model budgets and forecasts for several functions, including revenue projections and operating expense outlooks

General Accounting and Monthly Close

• Month-end accruals and journal entries

• Provide month end reporting on revenue, expenses, inventory and capital

• Tracking spend budget vs. actual and associated variances

Other Responsibilities

• Ad hoc modeling and analysis

• Other duties as assigned

• Perform duties in compliance with applicable FDA and state regulations as well as standards including, but not limited to, ISO 13485

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of general accounting or finance experience (required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (required)

  • Experience supporting a Commercial organization

  • Ability to work with management at all levels and lead major projects and initiatives

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across the organization

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA and/or MBA

  • Publicly traded company experience
