Job Description

Our Sr. HR Generalist and Workforce Optimization Analyst at NuVasive Clinical Services (NCS) is a unique role where you’ll apply your analytical skills, problem solving mindset, and creativity to a business that requires a sophisticated approach to the deployment of talent, while also sharpening your skills as an HR Generalist.

Key to the role, you’ll be tasked with (1) building and maintaining metrics, dashboards, and a “Talent War Room” to help operate the deployment of talent within the business, (2) supporting the professional growth and development of the NCS team, and (3) providing on the ground HR Generalist support to the NCS employee population partnering closely with the two other HRG generalists assigned to NCS, and the broader HR services team at NuVasive headquarters.

You are inquisitive - driven by finding answers to problems and creating new solutions. You have a strong analytical mind and have used quantitative and qualitative information to drive insights in previous roles. You are proficient in excel and analytical tools. You have experience cleaning data and creating workable datasets that can be applied to answer different analytical questions. On top of this, you have an interest in building a complete HR career, understanding the importance of obtaining generalist experience in becoming a true business partner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform data analysis in support of workforce optimization and make initial recommendations, supporting the goal of the right people, right time/place, with the right skills.

  • Based on historical data and business projections, build workforce forecasts that support the strategic objectives of NCS.

  • Work collaboratively across team boundaries to create and manage cross-organizational and integrated workforce strategies.

  • Provide high-quality advice and service to management on daily employee relations and performance management issues.

  • Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating and implementing solutions and coaching and counseling managers and employees.

  • Support the broader HR team in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience, including working cross-functionally with Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Benefits, Talent Management, and other HR specialist functions to help meet the needs of the business.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance/Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Human Resources, or a related field (or comparable experience in practical application).

  • Highly organized and ability to manage time effectively and balance priorities.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment.

  • Experience in working with datasets: responsibilities include extracting, cleaning, normalizing, and organizing data in ways that facilitate effective analysis.

  • Experience building and tracking metrics to report out on the effectiveness of initiatives, and knowledge of the appropriateness of metrics for a variety of situations / contexts.

  • Strong understanding of HR best practices and current regulations.

  • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including interaction with and ability to influence Key Opinion Leaders and senior leadership.

  • Computer savvy with extensive experience with MS Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of statistics with the ability to conduct a variety of statistical tests including, correlation, General Linear Modeling (GLM), Factor or Principal Components Analysis and other statistical modeling techniques.

  • 2-3 years’ experience as an HR Generalist with experience in employee relations

  • A strong background in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, accounting, human resources, etc., would be preferred.

  • Advanced degree in applied science or mathematics
